A leading Clothing Retailer is requiring an Area Manager to join their team in East London. The successful candidate will oversee all the stores in East London and surrounding areas and will be responsible for all operations in his/her business unit. Duties include but not limited to:- *Responsible for the branches as a whole – outside and inside of the stores and general housekeeping *Coordination of janitorial and repair services *Responsible for all stock - overages and shortages, control of inventory, Identify and report on slow selling items *Control of inventory - manage the quality and quantity, coordinate the layout of shelves and merchandise of seasonal and sale displays, identify new ways of promoting merchandise *Manage the implementation of all marketing promotions to ensure maximum sales opportunities are exploited *Actively participate in promotions and stay up to date with current advertising, marketing and pricing of area retailers with similar products *Ensure that the standard of administration and procedures in store are met and that the responsible persons are following proper procedures when handling all store cash *Management of staff - assist and train employees, manage performance and development of staff, ensure that all procedures and policies are followed and enforce disciplinary action when necessary *Manage the security in all aspects of the business and ensure that security procedures are strictly adhered to *Assist customers with enquiries and complaints. Minimum Requirements:- *Matric *Operations Management Diploma / Degree or relevant / related Retail NQF 5 / Diploma *Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Clothing Retail Operations environment as a Manager or Store Manager *Clothing Retail experience is essential *Post Matric qualification is advantageous *Proven ability to manage staff and ensure maximum productivity *Valid driver’s license – Code 8 unendorsed *Willingness to travel *Computer literate: Microsoft Office.
