Job Description

Leader in the field of precision mechanical manufacturing seeks to employ a suitably qualified and experienced Auto Setter at their premises near Cape Town.

 

For the position you would be required to have:

 

Qualified Artisan

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high-volume precision mechanical engineering environment

Sound technical knowledge of drawings, equipment and machinery

Responsibilities would include you to:

 

Collect component layout and relevant gauges

Set machine according to layout and component specification

Keep set-up scrap to a minimum

Submit first-off samples to inspection

Train operators on machine operation

Identify out of specification trends and take remedial action

Ensure all tools and cam sets are stored correctly

Request ordering of relevant tools and parts timeously

Ensure safe and hazard free work area
