Our company requires a candidate with a technical background to meet the following criteria:

Minimum Requirements

- Grade 12 (Matric)

- 3-5 years bending operating experience

- Technical background

- Knowledge of bending machines, geometric dimensions and tolerances

- Accuracy and attention to detail

- Able to work shifts

- Own transport

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret drawings to comprehend work orders

- Plan machining activities and bear in mind the work orders, priorities and machine efficiency

- Setup and operate the bending machine to bend sheet metal structural shapes to angle and contour specified by word order, drawings, templates or layout

- Select and bolt holding clamps and end stops on machine to set specified locations of bends

- Confirm position of clamps and end stops on machine to set specified locations of bends

- Position work piece against end stop

- Check stock inventory to ensure that the appropriate material is available

- Safely load and unload raw materials into the machinery

- Meet tolerance environments of the machine by setting gauges and measuring instruments appropriately

- Isolate any piece that may not conform to the standards of the work order. Parts must be quarantined. Supervisor to be informed and noted in bending report

- Perform preventative and regular maintenance on machines, equipment and tools used in all processes as directed

- Ensure that all machines and tooling are lubricated.
