Description

An injection moulding operator sets up, monitors, and operates injection moulding machines to produce plastic products by regulating temperature, pressure, and plastic volume, according to specifications. Key duties include assisting with installing moulds, ensuring quality of finished products through inspection, performing minor maintenance and repairs, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Operators also manage material feeding, remove excess material, package finished goods, and adhere to safety protocols and production procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation and Setup:
Assist with installation and mould changes, set up and adjust machine controls for temperature, pressure, and plastic volume based on job instructions or blueprints.

Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet visual and dimensional specifications, using master samples.
Production Monitoring: Monitor the moulding process to ensure efficient operation, performing in-process inspections and identifying any issues.
Material Handling: Load and feed plastic material into the machine's hopper.
Product Removal and Finishing: Remove finished parts from the machine and use hand tools like knives to trim excess material.
Maintenance and Housekeeping: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot minor equipment issues, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the work area.
Documentation and Packaging:
Follow work instructions to package and label finished products, and complete required production and quality forms.

Technical Skills: Ability to operate and maintain machinery, read work instructions, and perform basic mathematical functions.
Attention to Detail: Crucial for inspecting products for defects and ensuring they meet quality standards.
