The Department of Biomedical Sciences, in the Faculty of Science requires the services of Part- time
LECTURERS for day classes (B310) - 2026
Critical Performance Areas
• Preparing theory and conducting lectures.
• Advanced presentation (online and face-to-face) skills.
• Proven ability in using teaching technology (including myTUTor).
• Setting and marking of all assessments.
• Participating in programme and subject meetings.
• General administration such as capturing test and assignment marks, uploading documents on
myTUTor.
• Consultation and interaction with industry where necessary.
• Student consultation.
Minimum Requirements
• M Tech or similar Masters Degree relating to any of the fields below.
• Study record with major subjects.
• At least three years teaching and/or research experience at a tertiary institution will be required
and/or industry related experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office computer programs.
• Full proficiency in English reading, writing, and communicating is a prerequisite.
• Registration with the Health and Professional Council of South Africa as graduate clinical
technology practitioner (where applicable).
• Completion of a TUT License to Teach programme will be compulsory.
