The Department of Animal Science, in the Faculty of Science requires the
services of Part-time lecturer (s)
Key performance areas/Core functions:
 Preparing and conducting lecturers, using a multimodal approach
 Develop learning material and integrate appropriate technology in teaching and learning
 Assess learning outcomes using appropriate assessment methods in line with the TUT
Policy on Assessment
 Capture assessment marks on ITS, track and monitor at-risk students
 Participation in subject related meetings and training opportunities
 Student consultation and engagements
 Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned by the Department

Minimum requirements:

Academic qualifications
• Master’s degree in Equine Science / Veterinary Science / Veterinary Health Care or
equivalent qualification (NQF level 09)
• Three (3) years teaching experience at a university or industry experience
• Practical knowledge and industry experience in the field
• Proficiency in the use of online management systems will be an added advantage
Number of hours: 4 – 8 contact hours per week depending on the module. Block-mode classes
offered over a period of one year. Classes are offered during the day or in the evenings as
determined by the Department
