Description
The Department of Animal Science, in the Faculty of Science requires the
services of Part-time lecturer (s)
Key performance areas/Core functions:
Preparing and conducting lecturers, using a multimodal approach
Develop learning material and integrate appropriate technology in teaching and learning
Assess learning outcomes using appropriate assessment methods in line with the TUT
Policy on Assessment
Capture assessment marks on ITS, track and monitor at-risk students
Participation in subject related meetings and training opportunities
Student consultation and engagements
Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned by the Department
Minimum requirements:
Academic qualifications
• Master’s degree in Equine Science / Veterinary Science / Veterinary Health Care or
equivalent qualification (NQF level 09)
• Three (3) years teaching experience at a university or industry experience
• Practical knowledge and industry experience in the field
• Proficiency in the use of online management systems will be an added advantage
Number of hours: 4 – 8 contact hours per week depending on the module. Block-mode classes
offered over a period of one year. Classes are offered during the day or in the evenings as
determined by the Department

(2) Advanced Equine Reproductive and Exercise Physiology (AER107V)
