JOB PURPOSE
To assist in the development of the annual budgeting process, including strategic financial planning
and setting the budgets, as well as related adminitsrative tasks.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- B Com Degree in Accounting or related field
- Post-graduate qualification in finance
- 2-3 years finance administration or similar experience
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Assists with developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating budget policies and
procedures and make recommendations as necessary
- Participates in the development of the annual budgeting process, including strategic financial
planning and setting the budgets
- Supports all departments so that they can adhere to financial management principles
following direction from the manager
- Assists with the preparation of the medium–term revenue and expenditure framework in the
required National Treasury template
- Loads and maintains online budgets
- Assists with preparing and submitting National Treasury returns on monthly, quarterly and
annual bases
- Produces and analyses the monthly management accounts, variance analysis reports and
communicates variances
- Maintains reporting procedures for meeting deadlines
- Assists with the design, development, maintenances and improvements of the financial
management systems
- Adheres to the processes, controls, procedures, methodologies, standards and systems of
the department and JCPZ, including strict adherence to GAAP and other relevant accounting
principles and standards as well as defined ethical standards as prescribed by the Company
- Mitigates risk associated with the role and in line with departmental risk mitigation measures
- Ensures accuracy and reliability of accounting and operating data as outlined by the policies
and procedures of the organization
- Liaises with required departments
- Devises and maintains an office system, which includes data management and filing
- Maintains stationery stock for office, requesting additional stock needed
- Coordinates, monitors and directs the acquisition of supplies, telecommunication systems,
office facilities, records storage and retrieval systems, and forms
- Compiles and updates project lists
- Communicates events on behalf of the Department/ Unit
- Coordinates transport arrangements, visa, accommodation, tickets and any other requests for
the purpose of ensuring efficient and effective execution of duties- in liaison with the travel
coordinator
- Ensures the smooth functioning of the office and upholds a positive image for the manager
- Arranges/ Schedules departmental training, wellness events as directed by manager
- Performs miscellaneous duties in line with job and department function when and as requires
- Discusses deliverables, measures and targets with manager
- Actively participates and manages own performance levels by participating in regular one-onone meetings with manager to discuss progress of individual areas of accountability.
- Actively seeks coaching or advice when necessary
- Strives to improve own knowledge as it relates to the role
