We are a growing business within the vitamins and nutritional supplements sector, supplying high-quality wellness products into established retail channels. We are seeking a registered Responsible Pharmacist (RP) to assume statutory responsibility and provide professional oversight across product compliance, labelling, and regulatory governance.

The Opportunity

This is a fully remote, non-dispensing role designed for a pharmacist wanting to pivot from traditional retail or clinical dispensing into a commercial corporate environment. You will serve as our regulatory gatekeeper, ensuring our portfolio meets legal standards while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Statutory Oversight: Act as the registered RP with the SAPC and primary liaison for regulatory authorities (SAHPRA).

Regulatory Compliance: Oversee compliance for complementary medicines (CAMs) and health supplements in line with current South African legislation.

Labelling & Claims Review: Review formulations, packaging, and marketing materials to ensure accurate labelling and avoid non-compliant medicinal claims.

Quality Assurance (GWP): Maintain and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure Good Wholesaling and Distribution Practices across our supply chain.

Dossier Management: Compile and maintain product dossiers and notifications.

Pharmacovigilance: Monitor and manage product complaints or adverse event reporting.

Requirements

Qualifications: B.Pharm degree and active registration as a Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).

Experience: 2+ years in regulatory affairs, QA, or compliance. Experience within the CAMs, nutraceutical, or FMCG wellness sector is highly advantageous.

Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Medicines and Related Substances Act (Act 101 of 1965) and SAHPRA guidelines.

Attributes: Self-motivated for remote work, meticulous attention to detail, and a commercial mindset that balances compliance with retail supply chain agility.
