A vacancy has arisen for a Physiotherapy Assistant at Life Esidimeni Baneng Care Centre in Roodepoort, reporting to the Physiotherapist. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting the needs of the internal and external customers through the execution of the Life Healthcare strategic and operational objectives in Growth, Quality, Efficiency and Sustainability by contributing to the effective functioning of the Centre and be part of a dynamic professional team that is continuously striving for the highest quality standards.

 

Critical Outputs

Provide quality clinical care to all patients

Assist in the holistic assessment of patient and the establishment of treatment programs with guidance from the supervising Physiotherapist

Implementing, evaluating treatment programs of patients in the units and reporting to the supervising Physiotherapist

Monitoring patient response to treatment and reporting these to the supervising Physiotherapist

Knowledge and skills in running group sessions

Function effectively as part of the multi-disciplinary team to meet the requirements of quality patient care.

Commitment to quality patient and customer orientation

Ensuring all equipment is in working order and reporting and reporting problems to the supervising Physiotherapist

Education of users and their families regarding the patients’ condition.

Active participation in continuous professional development activities.

Building relationships with doctors, nurses, and therapists

Active participation in special awareness and events

Stock management and Record-keeping

 

Requirements

 

Grade 12/NSC

Physiotherapy Assistant Certificate

Current registration with HPCSA

Ability to do adaptations to enable participation in various tasks and activities

Knowledge and Skills in running groups and individual sessions whenever required

Knowledge of impact of illness/disability on occupational performance

At least 5 years work experience in the field
