Job Description

Well-established Engineering company producing very unique high-quality metal products mainly through grinding, seeks to employ a Production Manager. You will ensure that products are manufactured to high quality standards and adherence to SHE regulations.

For the position you would be required to have:

N6 in Mechanical Engineering preferred (must have tertiary qualification)

Around 4 years’ supervisory experience in a general engineering workshop

Experience in LEAN manufacturing will be a definite advantage

Good working knowledge of grinding, metals and their characteristics and furnaces

Responsibilities would include you to:

Coordinate production activities and resources so that planned products are produced to specifications, quality standards and completed on time.

Manage and own the scheduling of various manufacturing services in the factory

Report on production, maintenance and quality management processes

Propose corrective actions after root cause analysis to rectify missed targets

Provide Weekly and Monthly Material Variance Report

Report on Machine performance and defect elimination activities

Coordinate production and maintenance activities ensuring planned maintenance is met

Identify wasteful processes and propose operational improvements

Provide Safety Health and Environment (SHE) reports and provide corrective measures to Compliance Department

Handle logistics, warehousing and stock of raw materials used in production
