Regional Wealth Manager

 

Our client, a growing boutique wealth firm with a national network of offices is looking to recruit a regional wealth manager operating out of the Somerset West office. The business provides clients with tailored share portfolios both locally and offshore. The business’s offering includes access to market-leading offshore investment products and structures.

 

 

 

The role is mainly client-facing and includes managing a sizeable number of our client’s existing clients (existing book), and further growing the client base. The role also entails managing a few wealth managers operating from the Somerset West Office. A typical day includes visiting clients or working from home or working in the office.

 

Job Duties

 

Client related

 

Manage the existing clients and build long-lasting relationships.

Introduce additional clients to the business with a focus mainly on the high-net-worth individuals.

Assess clients’ financial needs and risk profiles.

Share knowledge and product expertise with clients.

Be willing to learn about specific offshore investment-related products and structures and offer these market-leading products to chosen existing and potential clients.

Propose investment solutions to clients taking cognisance of each client’s risk profile and financial needs.

Executing and implementing an ongoing client service plan to ensure client portfolios are regularly monitored and relevant modification timeously executed.

Display a professional and service-orientated approach to clients.

 

 

Office related

 

Ensure all work is in line with company compliance standards and regulatory policies/standards.

Apply a friendly and professional approach when dealing with colleagues and other businesses.

Develop and maintain constructive relationships with third-party businesses where required.

Provide suggestions on how to improve the business where appropriate.

Effectively manage a few wealth managers operating out of the Somerset West office.

Motivate staff.

Set staff objectives and guide staff accordingly.

Ensure staff receive the appropriate training.

Ensure staff adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Ensure staff act with professionalism towards clients and others.

Monitor staff performance and provide staff with regular relevant feedback.

Qualifications

 

Recognised tertiary qualification in a finance related field such as a BCom, BusSc or a wealth management/investment management qualification recognized by the FSCA.

A completed Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning / Economics / Investment Management or CFA qualification would be advantageous.

Experience

 

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Client Wealth Manager/Financial Advisor/Planner, with experience in investment advisory and financial planning.

Estate planning will be advantageous.

Proven track record of expertise in client management and acquisition.

Min 1,5 years managing wealth managers/financial advisors
