Job Summary:

As a Retail Sales Assistant & Cashier at Gem Care Fasteners, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service, processing transactions efficiently, and maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing store environment. You will be a key point of contact for our customers, offering friendly customer service and ensuring their hardware needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using our Point of Sales system and card machines.
Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers, addressing inquiries, providing quotations, and capturing stock requests related to hardware and fasteners.
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment, ensuring consistent adherence to store aesthetic standards, and optimizing product displays.
Manage stock levels of hardware and fasteners, replenish merchandise, and conduct regular stock takes.
Receive, dispatch, and process inter-branch stock transfers of hardware and related products.
Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Matric certificate.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and basic Microsoft Applications usage.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle customer inquiries with patience and empathy, particularly concerning technical hardware questions.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Open to receiving feedback and eager to develop new skills, especially within the hardware retail sector.
Previous experience in a similar retail hardware role will be highly advantageous.
Basic knowledge of hardware and fasteners is a plus.

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Saturdays: 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
