Our client is a top end supplier of specialised engineering services to the mining and steel mill industries and has experienced significant growth and development of their business over the past 20+ years


Specifically, they are well positioned to offer engineering design, manufacturing and repair services associated with large scale plant and machined components typically used in the mining and steel mill industries and which has earned them a reputation for excellence among both local and many international clients.




They currently have an opportunity for a highly practical Sales Engineer (BTech/BSc/National Diploma) with a drive to succeed and a track record of considerable success associated with securing manufacturing/repair work projects in the Mining and Steel Mill Industries. In this role you will be calling on all steel mills and mining operations throughout Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and KZN and located preferably in Gauteng but you could also potentially work from KZN or Mpumalanga as well.

The position calls for someone whose background and skills include:


A formal Mechanical Engineering Degree/Diploma

A track record that reflects a defined sales and business development competence and passion for good customer service

An experience background that includes exposure to the execution of mechanical engineering, manufacturing, installation and maintenance services

An ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings coupled with a good feel for cost and complexity of projects.

8-10 years’ experience in selling and negotiating engineering service contracts, preferably associated with heavy plant maintenance and/or refurbishment.

Good attention to detail.

Calm, relaxed, focused and persistent demeanour.

Ability to perform under pressure and meet target objectives.

Ability to work well in a team.
