Job Description
The ICT Senior Manager leads and manages the ICT platform and environment, ensures its reliable functioning, develops and manages strategic & operational ICT plans and projects. The ICT senior manager ensures the effective rollout of the ICT strategy making best use of technological advancements to meet the business requirements at optimal cost while ensuring risks are adequately mitigated. Apart from their education and experience, the Senior Manager must have every quality of a leader and a strong strategic and business acumen.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

ICT Infrastructure Management

Provides leadership in planning and managing IT product and service development. Oversees the effective delivery of computer operations and production support, system and database administration, network operations, PC/desktop support, and customer service.
Oversee the technological infrastructure (network and computer systems) in the organisation to ensure optimal performance
Management of departmental budget and costs to ensure that the company's financial targets are met and sustained
Accountable for the implementation and support activities regarding 3rd party applications
Manage, monitor and evaluate the company's software and hardware assets to ensure that all compliance and legislation is adhered to
Management of SLA’s with service providers to ensure that uptime of environment is maintained at expected levels
Project Management

Management of a range of business projects, from conception through to implementation with a variety of budgets and timelines
Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organisation. This will include the implementation of the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act
Stakeholder and People Management

Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with business operations, third party suppliers, subject matter experts and relevant stakeholders
Management of the ICT team
Accountable to ensure adequate skills, competencies development and team effectiveness of the IT team
Provide technical and development training to staff spread over multiple locations.
Strategic Management

Plans, implements, directs, and monitors the integration of new technologies into the infrastructure
Advise top management on the competitive or financial impact trends and issues in the IT industry, including latest technologies and the impact relevance to business organisational strategy
Risk and Security Management

To ensure that the integrity of the company's electronic information is secure, by delivering a high level of governance and security with back-up, disaster recovery and business continuity plans that are tested and robust. Implement preventative and corrective actions to ensure risks are mitigated especially cyber security
Perform the functions of a security officer

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications and Experience

Degree in the field of computer science/ICT are essential
5-8 years’ experience in a management post in an ICT environment
ITIL expert (V3) or ITIL Managing Professional (v4) certification
Holder of a CRISC certificate (Certification in Risk and Information Systems and Control) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) from ISACA
Holder of a MS Azure Fundamentals Certification
The following certification would be advantageous
PRINCE 2 practitioner
CSX-P Cybersecurity Practitioner from ISACA
CDPSE (certified data privacy solutions engineer)
Competencies

Strong leadership capability
Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management
Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development
Bilingual in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms
Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Strong service orientation.
Experience in budget planning and financial management
