Intelligent Medical Systems (Pty) Ltd is looking for Ruby Developers (experienced and new grads) to join our team on a permanent basis. The primary task will be refactoring portions of a complex web app.

 

A successful candidate needs to be a driven, detail orientated graduate who is passionate about making a difference by helping our team continue to improve

 

healthcare in Southern Africa.

 

IMS is an independent Healthcare company, based in Cape Town, that develops and implements technology that revolutionises Healthcare.

 

 

 

Responsibilities and Duties

 

Refactor cutting-edge web-based Ruby on Rails application.

 

Write clean object-oriented Ruby as well as efficient SQL.

 

Database design and performance tuning (SQL) including performance, reliability, scalability and security.

 

Writing tests.

 

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

Required

 

Solid experience with Ruby on Rails.

 

Nice to have:

 

Python

 

GIT

 

Experience with front-end UI design and development

 

Experience with HTML / CSS / JavaScript / JSON / AJAX / MVC

 

Software development within the Linux/Unix environment
