Job Description
This purpose of this post will be responsible for the asset and fleet management unit, based at the CapeNature Head Office, providing management and administration to the entire entity and reports to the Finance Manager Transactions
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asset management
Prepare an annual asset management plan
Maintenance of a comprehensive Fixed Asset Register
Ensure adherence to asset acquisition processes in line with the budget
Plan and coordinate bi-annual physical asset verification
Conduct bi-annual impairment reviews and processing for all assets
Coordinate the repairs and maintenance of fixed assets
Coordinate the asset disposal process
Ensure that project assets are accounted for and recorded timely
Monitor and maintain the Asset Under Construction account
Inventory management of fuel, chemicals and uniforms
- Stock counts
- Stock levels monitoring
- Stock journals and valuation
Monthly reconciliation of asset accounts
Monthly confirmation of existence of fixed assets
Monthly confirmation of the safeguarding of assets with the landscape managers
Financial management and reporting
Provide year end schedules relating to movements in assets including finance lease schedules
Preparation of periodic, mid-year and year end reconciliations and reports including property valuations
Conduct required investigations or reviews related to fixed assets
GMT administration
Create and monitor the control system, procedures and documentation consistent with asset management principles and fleet administration
Monitoring, control and compliance
Create and monitor the control system, procedures and documentation consistent with asset management principles
Annually review the asset management policy
Assist in the development and implementation of GRAP compliant procedures and policies governing management of the entity’s assets
Manage team members of the assets and fleet administration unit
REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant Degree in Financial Accounting or NQF level 7 advanced diploma
Honours Degree or CTA equivalent will be advantageous
5 years’ experience in an accounting environment or completed SAICA articles
Working knowledge of GRAP/IFRS
Computer literacy in MS Word and Excel, PowerPoint
Sage Intactt knowledge advantageous
Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication, planning and organisational skills
Good Analytical skills
Code 8 Driver’s License
