JOB PURPOSE:
The ideal candidate will have experience in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding of aluminum components and structures, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety and production standards.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:
Proven experience in aluminum TIG welding (typically 2+ years preferred).
Technical certification or apprenticeship in welding or related field.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Familiarity with safety protocols and use of PPE.
Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
Workshop/production floor environment.
May require standing for long periods and working in various positions (e.g., crouching, kneeling).
Use of welding hood, gloves, and other protective gear
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
Perform TIG welding on aluminum components as per blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures.
Set up welding equipment, select proper filler rods, and ensure gas flow and pressure settings are correct.
Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications using visual and measuring tools.
Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and welding symbols.
Prepare materials and surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and positioning as needed.
Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
Work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.
