General Description:

The primary purpose of the Auxiliary Nurse,Caregiver, Health worker is to play a vital role in assisting the Senior Professional/ Occupational Health Nurse(s) in maintaining a well-functioning occupational health centre.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

occupational Health Care
Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
Identify specific risks within the working area and adhere to discipline-specific plans/systems to avoid these risks.
Prepare documents to be used in legal proceedings, testifying in such proceedings when necessary.
Occupational Health Screening Procedures
Assist with performing spirometry, audiometry and vision screening and highlighting significant abnormalities to the Occupational Medical Practitioner.
Engage in physical safety checks, interventions, and coaching.
Report deficiencies and implement plans to address them.
Assess the 'fitness for duty' of team members and take any subsequent necessary action.
To perform and interpret the screening test results.
Administrative Knowledge
Maintain all required records and documentation.

Maintain logbooks of daily activities, including areas visited and activities performed.
Prepare and review site and clinic equipment specifications, ensuring that proper features are presented and items adhere to health and safety standards.
Health and Safety
Conduct continual safety audits to ensure all safety requirements are met.
Report on critical control performance within the team.
Embed critical controls into the team's daily work practices.
Implement Safety & Health systems within the work area.
Customer Service Orientation
To provide a prompt, efficient, and personalised service to clients.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Nursing Auxiliary certificate
Registered with SANC
Matric Certificate
Driver license
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
2 years of experience in a similar role.
Risk management techniques and critical controls.
Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, regulatory, and permitting requirements.
