Description

The Department of Transport Services in the Directorate of Logistical Services seeks to appoint
an Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for providing administrative support to the
Head of Operations. This is a one year fixed-term contract based at Giyani Campus.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Applicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a standardized
application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of
qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the
candidate. Candidates may be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and other
selection instruments. Applicants who previously applied are encouraged to reapply.
Kindly note that these positions are open exclusively to Limpopo Province residents
therefore, applicants primarily residing in the said Province will be given priority.
Key performance areas/Core functions:
• Implementation of effective filing system for the department
• Recording of leave on the system for the department
• All the administration of the staff leave system
• All the administration concerning the attendance register system
• Compile minutes and agendas for internal meetings
• Typing of letters, reports, and memorandums
• Effective scheduling of the HOD’s daily activities
• Processing orders for stationery or any other office equipment
• Ensure proper asset control over assets allocated to the office
• Budget administration
• Transfer, recovery and balancing of the operational budget as well as the relevant fund
entities
Academic Qualification:
• NQF level 4
• National Senior certificate or equivalent
Experience:
• Two (2) years relevant experience at office administration level
