Description

A vacancy exists for a Maintenance Planner/ Admin based at Life Fourways Hospital, reporting to Siphamandla Mdlalose, the Engineering Manager. This job exists to ensure well-maintained assets and work force productivity by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of workforce, parts, and equipment access.

Critical Outputs
Performs all general administrative duties related to the engineering department (Dealing with queries, preparing reports, taking minutes, leave management, record keeping and filing)  Provide Clerical and administration support to the technical team.
Follow up with service providers regarding quotes and invoices.
Receive Engineering Department calls and directing them to the relevant personnel.
Assist the Engineering Manager with the departmental budget control and management.
Assist the Engineering maintenance personnel balance their need for daily output with their need for equipment reliability and a well-maintained facility through proactive maintenance.
Effectively plan, schedule, and coordinate all planned maintenance work performed within the facility.
Ensure that all internal beneficiaries of maintenance receive timely, efficient, and quality service.
Ensure plant and Equipment’s reliability of the Sound Preventative Maintenance.
Provide a central source of information concerning maintenance work, equipment, and equipment repairs.
Provide special tools and equipment requirements.
Reduce total cost of maintenance while improving condition of equipment and operating facilities.
Effectively arrange and administrate resources to execute day-to-day corrective maintenance reported to the department with the goal being to minimize backlog.
Effectively manage and advise the engineering Manager of the timing of execution of scheduled legal maintenance to avoid backlog.
Collaborate effectively with the maintenance personnel to anticipate repair work before jobs become emergencies.
Assist the maintenance team with “Root Cause Analysis” of equipment failures and proper documentation of such incidents.
Regularly assess quality of maintenance planning, recording, and archiving in line with ISO quality standards.
Liaise and maintain a positive and favorable working and professional relationship with relevant suppliers and service providers

Requirements

Grade 12/ National Senior Certificate
A National Diploma in Electrical Engineering heavy current /Mechanical Engineering qualification will be advantageous
Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, One Drive, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
The ability to deal with confidential matters and interact professionally at all levels, both internally and externally
This demanding job requires a well-organized, energetic, and enthusiastic individual who is willing to go the extra mile.
Good interpersonal skills and communication ability as well as good telephone manners are essential.
Accuracy, speed, and attention to detail is vital.
Knowledge of operations engineering in the hospital environment would be an advantage.
