Description

This job exists to ensure well maintained assets and work force productivity by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of workforce, parts, and equipment access. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Manager.

Critical Outputs
CMMS productivity:

Develop, monitor and control an equipment register of all the equipment in the plant and their engineering details such as speeds, model, supplier, etc.
Manage a work planning and control system that raises work orders, prioritizes and allocates them to specific persons and keeps track of outstanding work
Develop and maintain a scheduling system that schedules fixed-interval inspections or replacements based on time or usage
Develop and maintain a spares management system that plans, reserves and issues maintenance spares to jobs, as well as replenishes these items timeously
Provide special tool register and requirements
Monitor and control a maintenance and history system that collects a history of all failures and maintenance work for each piece of equipment (root cause analysis, incident investigation, near miss, pareto analysis etc)
Analysis and reporting system that analyses and reports on various groupings of information
Cost control:

Assist Engineering manager with budget development, expenditure performance and cost split (fixed vs variable costs)
Monitor and control a costing system that tracks maintenance costs (labour, material and sub-contractors) per job per equipment
Quotation and invoice collection for job closeout finance documentation
Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best prices.
Project management:

Analyzing technical drawings and review material and cost estimates.
Understanding and analyzing contract requirements
Develop RFP and assist in tender evaluations
Monitoring and tracking project progress and writing reports.
Ensure close-out documentation review, filling and Client acceptance letter issuance
Contractor management:

Ensure documentation requirement for contractor management developed and adhered to(PTW, Contractor registers, Service reports, certificates etc)
Ensure contractor safety files are updated and filled
Stakeholder communication:

Ensure clear channels of communication are established with all stakeholders of the engineering department
Develop and distribute reports to all stakeholders of the engineering department
Compliance:

Ensure organized and effective filling system
Develop and maintain a facility compliance register
Lead the drive the auditing cycle and align with business legal accreditations
Participating in 3 monthly H&S committee meetings
Field work:

Assist artisans with preventative maintenance duties to ensure preventative work is aligned with tasklists/OEM guidance/legal guidance
Perform H&S representative duties
Requirements
Desired qualifications:

At least N6 qualification with Trade Test certificate in either Mechanical or Electrical (Heavy Current) engineering with a minimum of 5 years in operations or engineering maintenance.
OR

National Diploma in either Mechanical, Electrical (heavy current) Engineering or related qualifications with a minimum of 3 years in operations or engineering maintenance.
Practical experience in a hospital environment or similar environment is essential.
Computer literacy and experience on a CMMS preferably SAP PM would be an added advantage.
