About Us
Fairfield Meats Centre is a busy, high-standard butchery dedicated to providing our customers with the freshest,
highest-quality meats. We pride ourselves on maintaining an immaculate,
hygienic environment, and we are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual
to join our team as a Cleaner.
Key Responsibilities
Deep
Cleaning: Thoroughly clean and sanitize meat
processing areas, cutting tables, bandsaws, grinders, and cold
storage/walk-in freezers.
Waste
Management: Safely handle, remove, and dispose of
heavy meat waste, bones, and trash barrels.
Floor
Maintenance: Scrub, wash, and squeegee floors to
remove grease, blood, and debris, ensuring a slip-free environment.
Equipment
Care: Wash and sterilize meat hooks, trays,
and sharp utensils following strict food safety protocols.
Stocking: Keep
track of cleaning chemical inventory and restock hygiene stations.
Requirements
& Physical Demands
Physical
Strength: This is a physically demanding role. You
must be able to lift and move heavy objects (up to [e.g., 50 lbs / 25 kg])
regularly.
Stamina:
Ability to stand, bend, and perform strenuous manual labor for the
duration of the shift.
Resilience:
Comfortable working in a butchery environment (handling raw meat remnants,
blood, and strong cleaning chemicals) and working in cold temperatures
(walk-in freezers).
Experience:
Previous experience in commercial cleaning, kitchen stewarding, or a
butchery/abattoir environment is highly preferred but not essential.
Reliability:
Punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently after hours or
early morning shifts.
