Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute the organisation's financial strategy in alignment with business objectives and long-term goals.
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning processes.
Provide financial modelling, scenario analysis, and strategic insights to support business decisions.
Monitor economic and industry trends to identify financial risks and opportunities.
Financial Reporting & Governance
Oversee the preparation and delivery of management accounts, board reports, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and all applicable South African statutory requirements.
Maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and governance frameworks.
Manage the annual external audit process and auditor relationships.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with SARS requirements, including VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, and statutory submissions.
Identify and manage financial and operational risks across the organisation.
Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, lenders, and financial partners.
Review insurance coverage and risk exposure on an ongoing basis.
Treasury & Capital Management
Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and investment activities.
Support capital allocation decisions relating to debt, equity, and capital expenditure.
Leadership & People Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Implement systems and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Executive & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team.
Present financial performance, forecasts, and risk assessments to the Board and Audit Committee.
Build and maintain relationships with banks, investors, auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, and funding partners.
Minimum Requirements
Chartered Accountant CA(SA) qualification.
MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification advantageous.
Minimum 10 years' progressive finance experience, including at least 4 years in a senior leadership or executive role.
Proven experience managing end-to-end finance operations and leading finance teams.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, South African tax legislation, and statutory compliance.
Experience presenting to Boards, Executive Committees, and Audit Committees.
