Description
We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work in a High Care environment, often referred to as a High Dependency Unit (HDU), Intermediate Care, or Step-down unit.
This role is vital in providing specialized nursing care to patients who, although stable enough to transition from the Intensive Care Unit, still require more intensive monitoring and treatment than what is typically offered in a regular ward.
The skills and knowledge of RNs in these settings are essential for delivering the focused care needed for patient recovery, effectively connecting the intensive
care phase with general ward services.

Proficient in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Mentor and train junior staff and students.
Conduct educational rounds with trainees.
Skilled in administering oral medications.
Experienced in wound care management.
High energy and resilience under pressure.
Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous record-keeping.
Flexible team player in a multidisciplinary environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Requirements:
Must hold current SANC registration as a Registered Nurse.
Post Basic Qualification in Critical Care General is a plus.
Requires minimum 2-3 years of ICU nursing experience.
Essential to have ventilator competency.
Availability for shift work is mandatory.
Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
Flexibility to assist in other departments is required.
Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills needed.
Commitment to patient care and safety is essential.
