Initec Civils is a fibre optic construction company delivering last-mile network build projects across South Africa. We're looking for an ambitious, hands-on operations/construction professional to join our team at an exciting growth stage — this is a serious opportunity for the right person to grow with the company.

About the role:

We need someone with solid operational/construction project experience and strong BOM (Bill of Materials) and BOQ (Bill of Quantities) skills to help drive site delivery, materials planning, and contractor coordination across our construction projects.

Requirements:

3–8 years' experience in an operations, construction, or civil/infrastructure environment
Demonstrated experience compiling and managing BOMs and BOQs
Background in construction, civils, utilities, or similar infrastructure sectors — broad construction experience is valued, and candidates from outside fibre/telecoms specifically are welcome too
Own reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence — essential, as the role involves site travel
Strong organisational skills and comfort managing multiple moving parts at once
Self-starter with real ambition — this role has genuine room to grow as the company scales
Based in or willing to travel regularly to Gauteng sites
Responsibilities:

Compiling and maintaining BOMs and BOQs for construction projects
Coordinating with site teams, contractors, and suppliers
Tracking material usage, gaps, and procurement needs against project plans
Supporting project timelines and quality/site delivery
Reporting progress to senior management
