Description
A vacancy exists for a Senior Stock Controller, based at Life Groenkloof Hospital reporting to the Theatre Manager.
The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.
Critical Outputs
Data capturing as well as inventory control.
Assist doctor on all surgical queries.
Assist in product conversion.
Database maintenance including Imeds codes, box codes and preferred levels.
Adhere to ISO procedures and protocols.
Work closely with Pharmacy personnel.
Ensure good communication with nursing staff and doctors
Effective medication safety management
Report 100% of theatre alerts and incidents
Responsible for the correct ordering and receipting of stock
Perform stock rotation and expiry dates checks of all stock items systematically
Effective quality management systems
Ensure compliance to LHC Quality management systems.
Ensure compliance with SAPC, DOH and LHC legal and professional standards
Ensure customer satisfaction and pharmacy quality initiatives.
Capturing and handling of product complaints
Implementing and maintaining LHC formulary
Performing cycle counts and stock takes as well as capturing stock takes, investigating variances in theatre.
Ensure accurate receiving, receipting & distribution of stock to the hospital.
Effective product management
Participate in the active management of cost of sales.
Manage non recoverable usage
Communicate out of stock items.
Follow up on back orders.
Manage excess stock, negative stock, deadstock & overstock items.
Processing transfers in good time and ensuring the daily generation of auto transfers.
Effective asset management
Management of the theatre stockroom
Managing the procurement, control and distribution of stock within the theatre complex
Participate in achieving stock targets i.e. stock days, dead stock, stock variances
Excellent stock-take knowledge with good management of short, dated stock
Participate in achieving budgeted financial measures relating to pharmacy
Manage and minimize stock write offs
Management of unreconciled liabilities
Ensure correct ordering, issuing, timeous receipting and crediting of stock
Achieve optimal system utilization.
All the above outputs to be carried out in accordance with our standard operating procedures and protocols.
Requirements
Grade 12
2-3 years of experience
Experience within inventory management or relevant experience within a pharmacy environment.
Knowledge of inventory control processes, procedures and practices.
Understanding of management and relationship structures within an operating environment.
Ability to communicate effectively.
People management experience.
Computer literacy
Candidate will need to be self-motivated and self-disciplined. Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
Theatre stock control experience would be an advantage.
