Refueling: Fill petrol or diesel tanks safely and accurately to the level requested by the driver.

Fluid Checks: Check and top up engine oil, radiator water, and other essential vehicle fluids.

Vehicle Care: Clean windscreens and windows, and check or pump tyre air pressure.

Payments: Collect cash, cards, or vouchers from customers and provide correct change and receipts.

Station Cleanliness: Keep the fuel pumps, driveways, and surrounding work areas neat, clean, and safe. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Requirements and Skills

Customer Service: A polite, friendly, and helpful attitude when dealing with the public.

Honesty: High integrity and trustworthiness, especially when handling money and transactions.

Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for long periods and handle active manual tasks.

Basic Education: Basic reading, writing, and math skills, with most employers preferring a minimum of a Grade 8 or Grade 12 school certificate.
