Senior Operations Manager – Popular Steakhouse | Southern Suburbs

We are looking for a brilliant, experienced and highly motivated Senior Operations Manager to lead a popular steakhouse in the Southern Suburbs.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the smooth operational and financial management of the business, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, strong team performance and sustainable profitability.

Key Responsibilities & Competencies

• Efficiently manage and control budgets and operating costs.
• Maintain food costs within agreed targets.
• Drive turnover and increase customer foot count through effective marketing initiatives and outstanding customer service.
• Deliver an exceptional guest experience and handle customer complaints professionally and effectively.
• Recruit, train, develop and manage staff at all levels, with a strong focus on team morale and staff retention.
• Manage all administrative requirements associated with running a successful restaurant.
• Monitor operational performance and implement improvements where necessary.
• Communicate effectively with staff, customers and owners.
• Take ownership of the business and run the restaurant with an entrepreneurial mindset, while working within the direction and requirements set by the owners.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar senior restaurant management role.
• 10+ years' experience in the restaurant industry.
• Proven experience in budget management, cost control and achieving food cost targets.
• A strong track record in staff leadership, development and retention.
• Demonstrated ability to grow turnover and improve customer foot count.
• Excellent customer service and complaint-resolution skills.
• Strong administration, organisational and communication skills.
• Goal-driven, self-motivated and hands-on.
• Able to take ownership and treat the business as if it were your own, while still following the strategic direction of the owners.
• Minimum of two contactable references, as well as written references.
