Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Civil Engineering Project Manager / Technical Lead to lead major municipal and public infrastructure programmes from strategic planning and design approval through construction, contract administration and final commissioning.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following:
Master’s Degree (M.Eng, M.Sc or MTech) in Civil Engineering or a Built Environment discipline, NQF Level 8 or 9.
Foundational B.Eng, B.Sc, BTech or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Current, valid ECSA registration as Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng.
25+ years’ verifiable post-qualification experience in major civil infrastructure, including bulk water, sanitation, municipal roads and structural works.
Extensive experience acting as Engineer / Employer’s Representative under GCC, FIDIC or NEC contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across planning, design and construction.
Manage contract administration, claims, disputes, quality control and statutory compliance.
Review and approve engineering reports, feasibility studies, tenders and as-built documentation.
Engage with municipalities, DWS, MISA, provincial departments and private stakeholders.
Mentor Candidate Engineers and technical staff toward ECSA registration.
