Our property hosts weddings, private functions and overnight guests in the Western Cape. We need someone who takes exceptional pride in cleanliness, gardening, maintenance and keeping the entire property in excellent condition.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and hands-on caretaker to join a privately owned events venue and guest house. Specifically, we're looking for someone who sees what needs doing and gets it done, without being asked twice.

WHAT WE OFFER

R4,500 to R5,000 NET salary per month, depending on experience and skills.

FREE live-in accommodation, including water and electricity.

Long-term employment opportunity, subject to a successful 3-month probation period.

A stable working environment.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning and housekeeping: Thorough cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, event halls and communal areas. Maintaining excellent hygiene and presentation standards.

Guest house preparation: Preparing rooms for arrivals, changing linen, making beds, cleaning bathrooms and ensuring accommodation is spotless before check-in.

Venue preparation: Deep cleaning and preparing event halls, toilets, kitchens and outdoor entertainment areas before and after functions.

Gardens and grounds: Mowing lawns, watering plants, maintaining flowerbeds and keeping pathways and outdoor areas neat.

General maintenance: Basic plumbing, painting, woodwork, minor repairs and general handyman duties.

Security: Locking up, checking gates and conducting routine evening security inspections.

Animal care: Daily feeding and basic care of animals on the property.

Guest assistance: Providing friendly, professional assistance to visitors and overnight guests.

Daily reporting: Sending brief WhatsApp updates and photographs of completed work.

Important: Weekend work is essential as events generally take place over weekends. Days off will be scheduled during the week.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

At least 2 years' experience in caretaking, housekeeping, cleaning, gardening, maintenance or a similar role.

Excellent cleaning and housekeeping skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

Practical experience with gardening and basic property maintenance.

Ability to work independently without constant supervision.

Someone who takes initiative and solves problems.

Comfortable with physical work and outdoor responsibilities.

Able to communicate via WhatsApp and send photographs.
