The Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering has a one-year fixed term
position for an Academic Technician in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at
Pretoria Campus.
INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit, together with the CVs, a fully completed
standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified
copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will
disqualify the candidate. Candidates may be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and
other selection instruments.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Facilitate the operations of labs
• Maintenance of lab equipment
• Ensure that all equipment is treated with care and is not removed without proper
authorization.
• Maintain discipline and compliance in the labs.
• Provide reports as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ACADEMIC TECHNICIAN
Academic qualifications:
National Diploma (NQF6) / B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering (NQF7).
Experience:
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
Registration with professional body (if applicable):
• Registration with ECSA will be advantageous.
