A vacancy exists for an Artisan Assistant based at Life Flora Hospital, reporting to Peris Naicker, Operations Engineering Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections and maintenance repairs related to a hospital facility which comprises of buildings and equipment.

Critical Outputs
Conduct all duties allocated by the Engineering Manager, Engineering Planner and Maintenance Administrator.
Responsible for the inspections and repairs of buildings and equipment
Conduct daily inspections and complete job cards on all electrical systems i.e. UPS, generators, vacuum pumps, air compressors, air conditioning systems.
Conduct fault finding and repairs to hospital Nurse Call and TV systems.
Conduct fault finding and repairs to plumbing and water reticulation systems
Stock and inventory control of materials and spares required for maintenance tasks
Speedy and accurate completion of daily job cards as well as feedback thereof is a high priority.
Assist in allocated tasks in the absence of team members.
Assist with the management of contractors on site by issuing PTW and monitoring their tasks.
Conduct Standby Duty as per department’s standby roster

Requirements

Matric/N3 or equivalent qualification
N3/N4 Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is desired
Driver’s license and own transport
Own transport
Hospital maintenance experience will be an advantage.
Electrical, mechanical, building, plumbing, carpentry, welding or tiling experience will be an advantage.
Willingness to work overtime when needed
A basic knowledge of hand tools.
The candidate must have a good understanding of plant equipment.
Experience in SAP plant maintenance job card system or other CMMS will be an advantage
