BOOK STORE MANAGER – CAPE TOWN

Salary: R20 000 per month

We are seeking an experienced and driven Book Store Manager to take full responsibility for the successful operation of a busy bookstore. This role requires a strong leader with a passion for books and a solid commercial mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full day-to-day operations of the bookstore

Lead, motivate and manage staff to ensure high performance and excellent customer service

Drive sales and implement strategies to achieve targets

Liaise with publishers, libraries, and schools to build and maintain relationships

Oversee stock control, merchandising, and in-store promotions

Ensure the store environment is engaging and well-presented

Minimum Requirements:

Matric (Grade 12)

Minimum 4 years’ management experience in a bookstore or publishing environment

Strong knowledge of books, authors, and the publishing industry

Proven ability to drive sales and meet targets

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Well-read with a genuine passion for literature

Preferred:

Relevant qualification or background in publishing or a related field
