Description:

The Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a poultry farm, including poultry welfare, production, farm maintenance, stock control, and staff management.

This role requires a practical, hands-on individual with strong problem-solving skills who can work independently and ensure the efficient operation of the farm and packing station.

Responsibilities:

Oversee general farm operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the property
Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on farm equipment or arrange for external repairs when necessary
Ensure poultry are healthy, properly fed, and kept in suitable living conditions
Monitor and maintain efficient and productive poultry operations
Manage stock and inventory, including chickens, eggs, packaging materials, and animal feed
Supervise and manage a team of approximately 10 employees
Provide daily feedback on farm activities, production, and operational issues
Work closely with the sales team to ensure the packing station operates efficiently and stock is dispatched as required
Perform general administrative duties and maintain accurate operational records

Requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
Valid driver's license required (Code 10 or Code 14 will be advantageous)
Strong practical and hands-on abilities
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Ability to manage staff and oversee daily operations
Previous farm experience will be advantageous but is not essential
Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in the Eastern Cape
