National Marketing leader in transport and logistics is seeking to employ a Financial Accountant to join their ever growing team

Job Function

To provide expertise and advice to support the development of operational implementation plans and associated service delivery processes, methods and techniques and to perform, keep track of and report on the financial transactions in area of responsibility and in accordance with financial policies and regulations, enabling informed management decision making and contributing to client and customer satisfaction, optimal profitability, reduced risk and compliance to regulatory and legislative requirements.

Responsibility:
Key performance areas

Execute work in line with governance and compliance processes
Provide continuous feedback on task delivery to support decision making
Plan and organise own tasks to make sure that performance targets are met and standard operating procedures are adhered to
Attend learning initiatives to improve work quality and enhance own skills
Own and live up to the company values
Adhere to standard accounting principles and company procedures
Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
Prepare and analyse financial reporting packs
Reconcile general ledger and sub ledger accounts
Review financial reports to identify and explain variances
Reviewing supplier reconciliations
Reviewing of management accounts
Perform monthly GL reconciliations
Prepare tax computations
Distribution of common expenses (allocations)
Supporting and contributing to the effective management of fixed assets
Provide support for internal and external financial audits
Provide leadership support to the finance staff.

Perform accounting analyses and reporting to support decision making purposes
Execute work activities effectively and efficiently to maximise financial performance
Compile ad hoc financial reporting

Qualifications required

Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Accounting

Skills and experience required

Up to 5 years of experience in a similar environment with at least 2 years tactical leadership or specialist experience
