We are a well-established fresh produce wholesaler and distributor servicing the hospitality industry in Cape Town and are looking for an experienced, hands-on General/Operations Manager to join our team.

We are looking for someone who can take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business and ensure operations continue smoothly and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will:

Have previous management or supervisory experience.
Be strict, disciplined, fair and consistent.
Be comfortable managing and holding staff accountable.
Be able to think on their feet and resolve problems independently.
Be hands-on and willing to assist operationally when required.
Work with urgency and ensure tasks are completed.
Have strong organisational and communication skills.
Be comfortable dealing with customers and suppliers.
Be able to implement, improve and enforce company systems and procedures.
Have experience across multiple areas of a business such as sales, purchasing, stock control, warehousing, dispatch, deliveries, staff management and customer service.
Be comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions.
Experience within FMCG, wholesale, retail, food distribution, hospitality supply or fresh produce will be highly advantageous.

This is not a desk-only management position. We are looking for someone who is willing to get involved in the operation when necessary and take ownership of getting the job done.
