Automotive Heavy Diesel Engine Assembler
An established automotive engineering workshop based in Pinetown is seeking a qualified and experienced Trade Tested Automotive Heavy Diesel Engine Assembler to join our professional engine rebuilding team.
Minimum Requirements
Qualified Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic or equivalent recognized trade qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience assembling and rebuilding heavy diesel engines.
Proven experience working on engines such as:
Cummins
Caterpillar
Mercedes-Benz
Volvo
Scania
MAN
Ability to read and interpret workshop manuals, technical drawings, and specifications.
Sound knowledge of engine tolerances, measurements, and assembly procedures.
Competent in the use of precision measuring instruments.
Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and rebuild heavy diesel engines according to OEM specifications.
Measure and inspect engine components to ensure compliance with engineering tolerances.
Install crankshafts, pistons, liners, cylinder heads, camshafts, injectors, and ancillary components.
Perform quality checks during and after assembly.
Diagnose assembly-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards.
