Overview
We are looking for a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our PVC manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure efficient and uninterrupted production. This role is ideal for someone with strong fault-finding abilities and experience in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment within the plant
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical components
Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on production equipment such as extruders, mixers, and conveyor systems
Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and basic PLC programs
Maintain and repair control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, and motor control centres
Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
Test electrical systems using appropriate tools (multimeters, insulation testers, etc.)
Work closely with production and maintenance teams to optimise equipment performance
Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety regulations, and company policies
Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports

Minimum Requirements

Trade certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering / Industrial Electrical Work
Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician, preferably in a manufacturing or plastics environment
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, and control panels
Experience with PLC systems (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley) will be advantageous
Familiarity with VFDs, sensors, and automation systems
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals
Key Skills

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and safety awareness
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Good communication and teamwork skills
Basic mechanical knowledge will be advantageous
Working Conditions

Industrial/manufacturing plant environment
Exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery
Shift work, overtime, and standby duties may be required
Health & Safety

Adhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures at all times
Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and regulations
Identify and report workplace hazards
Participate in safety training and audits
