Description
The Department of Informatics in the Faculty of ICT Invites applications for a Part–Time
Lecturers Position at the Soshanguve South Campus to teach the following Diploma
subjects.
Diploma in Informatics (4 positions)
• DBB216D 1 Database Management Systems A
• ITP216D 1 Introduction to Strategic Information Systems
• SYB216D 2 Systems Analysis
INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit, together with the CVs, a fully
completed standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as
recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with
this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Candidates may be subjected to appropriate
psychometric testing and other selection instruments
Key performance areas/Core functions:
• Preparing all lecture materials, assessments, and memorandums for related
subjects;
• Maintain updates and interact with the students on the learning management
system (myTUTor – D2L);
• Preparing and presenting lectures and assessing students registered for the
subject;
• Performing administration of marks and other related administrative duties under
the supervision of subject head, section head, and head of the department
(HoD);
• Attend staff and subject meetings; and
• Adhere to the due dates set by the section head or HoD.
Minimum requirements for Diploma (Main and Extended Qualification)
Academic qualifications and others:
• MTech: IT Business Applications; or
• MTech: IT Business Information Systems; or
• Master in Computing in Informatics
• Candidates with a Postgraduate Diploma in Informatics or an Honours Degree in
Business Information Systems and who are registered for the MTech qualification
may be considered.
• Candidates must be able to travel to campus during the week and on short notice
and be available for face-to-face classes and/or assessment over the weekends
(which could include long weekends).
Experience:
• 3 years’ relevant teaching experience in Teaching and/or 3 years’ experience in
industry.
