The Department of Public Management requires the services of part-time lecturers for both first and second semester subjects for the 2027 academic year.

INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit, together with the CVs, a fully completed standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Candidates
may be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and other selection instruments.
1. Key performance areas:
• Presenting lectures and assessing students in various subjects (Day classes);
• Be responsible for administrative tasks relating to Teaching and Learning;
• Involvement in departmental community projects;
• Compile and maintain quality study guides, subject files and other relevant Teaching and
Learning material;
• Liaise with industry regarding WIL matters;
• Attend departmental meetings as required by the Faculty;
• Setting and marking all assessments;
• General administrative duties such as capturing of test and assignment marks on the ITS
system and uploading documents on BrightSpace;
• Consultation with students.

2. Minimum requirements:
Academic qualifications:
• A Master’s degree in Public Management/Public Affairs/Administration/Local Government or
equivalent.
• A qualification in Higher Education will be an advantage.

3. Experience:
• At least 3 years teaching experience at a tertiary institution is a requirement.
• Evidence of engagement in scientific research and publications in DHET accredited journals
will be an added advantage.
• Registration with a professional body (if applicable).
Successful applicants only receive a part-time salary according to TUT Policy. No additional
remuneration for travel, relocation, etc.
