​Keshrina Mahabeer Attorneys is a busy, dynamic law firm based in Pietermaritzburg specializing in Litigation, Estate Administration, Family Law, and Property Conveyancing. We pride ourselves on meticulous attention to detail, efficient client service, and a collaborative team environment.

​We are seeking a sharp, organized, and experienced Legal Secretary / Paralegal to join our team on an immediate basis to handle core administrative, financial, and external liaison responsibilities.

​Key Responsibilities

​Assisting with litigation, family law, and deceased estate administration workflows from inception to file closure.

​Drafting court notices, pleadings, founding affidavits, and estate documentation.

​Generating client statements, tracking accounts, and handling basic billing administration.

​Handling external liaison and physical field duties, including filings and interactions at the Master’s Office, Magistrate’s/High Court, and the Sheriff’s office.

​Managing general office administration, client intake, and scheduling.

​Supporting the professional staff to ensure smooth daily practice operations.

​Requirements & Qualifications

​Minimum 2 to 3 years of proven working experience in a legal practice environment, specifically handling litigation, family law, and estate administration.

​Familiarity with billing administration, including generating and managing client statements.

​Familiarity with local institutional workflows (experience dealing directly with the Master’s Office, Courts, and Sheriffs is essential).

​Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle pressure, multitask, and meet strict court deadlines.

​Professional verbal and written communication skills (fluent in English; additional local languages are a bonus).

​Strong computer literacy (Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and legal software).

​High level of integrity, reliability, and a valid driver's license/reliable transport for local errands is a strong advantage.
