A Vehicle Repair Workshop in Montague Gardens, Cape Town
Is seeking an organized, dependable, and proficient Motor Mechanic to join our team.
The ideal candidate must be physically and mentally fit. As a mechanic, you must possess strong mechanical skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical problems.
Duties & Responsibilities
Routine Maintenance: Perform basic and comprehensive maintenance on all automotive vehicles and trucks (all models, diesel and petrol).
Inspection: Inspect and identify faulty or worn parts accurately.
Diagnostics: Analyze and diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues.
Compliance: Follow checklists and established protocols while conducting repairs.
Workshop Upkeep: Keep machinery, workshop tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and good working condition.
Reporting: Clearly explain the nature of required repairs, the plan of action, and available options to the manager.
Technical Repairs: Perform engine overhauls, as well as repairs to gearboxes, clutches, brakes, airbrakes, cambelts, and hydraulics.
Teamwork: Support co-workers and operate as an effective team player.
Workshop Safety: Maintain a strong understanding of the workshop environment. Follow all health and safety laws, guidelines, and company rules.
Flexibility: Execute additional operational tasks as requested by management to support workshop workflow.
Job Requirements
Licensing: Valid driver’s license.
Background Check: Clear criminal record.
Technical Familiarity: Deep familiarity with common mechanic tools, service equipment, and diagnostic tools.
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and efficient work habits.
Tech Literacy: Basic computer literacy.
