A Vacancy exists for a Porter, based at Life Entabeni Hospital, reporting to, Reception Supervisor.

The purpose of this position is providing a supportive function to the nursing staff in basic delivery of tasks i.e. transportation of patients as well as supportive administration department under direct supervision of Admission Supervisor.

Critical Outputs
Providing prompt, courteous service to all patients, staff, doctors, and any other persons
Safe and professional transporting of patients to wards and other sites
Assist with queries at the information desk.
Maintaining a safe, clean environment.
Plan and manage orderly storage of the wheelchairs .
Report faulty/unsafe and broken wheelchairs immediately.
Adhoc duties assigned by Reception Supervisor.

Requirements

Matric - Grade 12
An enthusiastic, motivated, punctual & well organised individual with initiative and ability to handle pressure. Must be able to work shifts and overtime as required.
Must be customer service oriented with good time management skills
Reliable transport due to the nature of shift work
Effective communication skills; verbal and written.
Able to work under pressure and as part of a team
Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
