Description
Key performance areas:
· Co-ordinate, control and ensure the effective functioning of the Food Safety/Quality Assurance system
· Food Safety Team leader of the Food Safety Team
· Continually improving the quality control system and Food safety procedures
· Ensure the implementation and maintaining of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
· Handle consumer complaints together with the Marketing Director
· Ordering, stock-take of chemicals and other hygiene disposables used in the factory
· Reporting on non-conformances
· Staff training with regards to Food Safety and general factory hygiene
· Handle all external audits and visits by retailers to the factory
· Ensure the factory complies with major retailers’ code of practices
· Implement Corrective and Preventative action
· Maintaining and continually improving the Health and Safety System
· Together with the Managing Director maintain and continually improve the GlobalGAP system
· Liaise with suppliers re Supplier Quality Assurance
The successful candidate must have:
· Matric and a BSc Food Science qualification or equivalent in Food Science or Technology
· Minimum 2 years experience in a food manufacturing environment
· Knowledge on HACCP/Food Safety and GlobalGAP audits in a minimum requirement
· Be a team player
· Attention to detail
· Must preferably reside in the Stellenbosch/Franschoek area
Salary negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience
