The Role

A well-established Civil/Building/Construction company is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and has a strong understanding of electrical installations, cost control, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate project cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts.
Complete quantity takes-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for electrical installations.
Evaluate tenders, quotations, and subcontractor claims.
Manage contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Prepare monthly valuations, variation orders, and final accounts.
Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports to management.
Procure materials and subcontractor packages where required.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Work closely with project
managers, engineers, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects are
delivered within budget.

Minimum Requirements:

Matric.
Bachelor's Degree, National Diploma, or BTech in Quantity Surveying.

5–10 years' Quantity Surveying experience, preferably within the general building construction (Earthworks, Civil and Structural, Mechanical, Electrical) industry.
Ability to use Quantity Surveying related software applications (Candy, WinQS, etc.)
Knowledge construction projects using JBCC, GCC, NEC or similar contracts
Strong knowledge of contract administration and cost management.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and financial management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Valid driver's license.
