Live-In Receptionist/Guesthouse Manager
The Guesthouse is a 12-room boutique guesthouse in Cape Town, Milnerton. We're looking for a warm, capable, hands-on person to be the face of the house and to live on the property as our Receptionist / Manager.

About the role
You'll be the first person our guests meet and the one who makes them feel at home. The role is live-in, so you'll live on the property and be there for guests until 9 p.m. on the days you work. It's a varied, hands-on job for someone who likes a guesthouse where everyone pitches in.

Your day-to-day

Welcome every guest, from check-in to check-out
Help prepare breakfast each morning
Check guests out and say goodbye
Manage bookings and availability across Nightsbridge, Booking.com, Airbnb and our other booking platforms
Answer the phone and emails, and let in arriving guests, with a break in the middle of the day
Be available to let guests in until 9 p.m. on your working days
Help run the house on weekends, when you're the only team member on site. That includes occasionally cleaning rooms and doing laundry.
Hours and schedule
Your hours are flexible, built around breakfast and check-outs in the morning. After that you can take a break during the day, as long as you're on hand for the phone and for guests arriving. You'll work weekends, and you get two days off during the week. On weekdays, our cleaner and our maintenance person are also on site, so you're not on your own.

What we're looking for
Experience in hospitality, ideally in a small guesthouse or boutique property
Working knowledge of Nightsbridge, Booking.com, Airbnb and other booking platforms
Excellent communication skills and a genuinely warm, professional manner
A hands-on attitude. You're happy to help with breakfast, rooms and laundry when needed.
South African citizenship, or a valid work visa that covers at least the next three years
What we offer
A base salary plus commission linked to the guesthouse's revenue
Free accommodation on the property in your own Wendy house, with a private room and bathroom
