Description
A vacancy exists for a Registered Midwife, in a combined antenatal, labour and post-natal ward, based at Life Fourways Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager, Precious Mbhele.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic patient care and contribute to collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders in line with company & hospital strategic objectives.
Critical Outputs
Conducting comprehensive patient assessment and implement care duties allocated by the Unit Manager
Maintaining excellent patient care in accordance with the Life Health care service standards
Delivering quality nursing care and provide accurate and adequate health information to patients and families
Professional ethical practice
Supervision role for subordinates with specific nursing care of the mother and baby
Effective cost management regarding stock and utilization of Impilo system
Participating in all safety, Health, Environment, Infection Control and Quality standards
Participation in ESMOE training, Obstetric drills and CPD programs
Monitoring and implementing preventative measures to minimize the identified risks in maternity
Maintaining effective relationships with the internal and external stake holders including all multidisciplinary team
Ability to assume a leadership role during shifts or a proactive commitment to acquiring shift leadership skills is a key expectation for this midwife role.
Requirements
Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing
Diploma in Midwifery
Registration with SANC
Nursing experience in maternity Ward (Labour, Post-natal and Nursery)
Must have a valid BLS certificate
Must have a valid ESMOE training certificate
Must be willing to fulfil the role of midwife in the Unit, according to the flexi hour system (day and night duty), standby hours, according to the needs of the Unit
Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
