We are looking for a dedicated, proactive and qualified Safety Officer to join our team in Durban.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement and monitor occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits.
Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures.
Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
Conduct risk assessments and develop safe work procedures.
Investigate workplace accidents and incidents and compile reports.
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and employee training.
Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate health and safety documentation.
Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Relevant Safety Officer qualification.
Valid SAMTRAC or equivalent safety training (advantageous).
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
Previous experience in a similar role.
Good communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Computer literacy and report-writing skills.
