Our accounting firm in the Asherville/Springfield area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong technical expertise in financial statement preparation and review.

This role is ideal for a detail‑driven professional who excels in IFRS compliance, statutory reporting, and high‑level quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review annual financial statements, management accounts, and supporting schedules

Ensure full compliance with IFRS, Companies Act requirements, and relevant tax legislation

Identify errors, disclosure gaps, and risks, and provide corrective guidance to accounting staff

Oversee quality control processes and uphold firmwide reporting standards

Provide technical support on complex accounting matters

Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes

Minimum Requirements

Previous experience in accounting, audit, or financial reporting

Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and South African regulatory frameworks

Proven experience reviewing financial statements

Exceptional attention to detail and analytical ability

Professional designation (CA(SA), PA(SA), or equivalent) advantageous
