TEMPORARY RETAIL/SHOP ASSISTANT – KRAAIFONTEIN

A small retail business in Kraaifontein is looking for a trustworthy, reliable and experienced Shop Assistant for an initial two-month temporary position, with the possibility of extension.

POSITION DETAILS
- Location: Kraaifontein, Cape Town
- Contract: Temporary (2 months initially)
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 09:00–17:00
- Salary: R45 per hour
- Start: Immediately / As soon as possible

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assisting customers and providing excellent service
- Operating the till and POS system
- Handling cash, card payments and daily cash-ups
- Receiving, unpacking and displaying stock
- Checking stock levels and expiry dates
- General cleaning of the shop, shelves, floors and refrigerators
- Opening and closing the shop when required
- Managing daily shop operations independently

REQUIREMENTS

- Previous retail, grocery or convenience store experience preferred
- Experience with cash handling and POS systems
- Honest, punctual, responsible and presentable
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physically able to handle stock and cleaning duties
- Reliable transport to Kraaifontein
